JACKSONVILLE, NC – Stock car racing is returning to Coastal Plains Raceway for the first time since March with a weekend doubleheader under the lights.
After races scheduled for May 23 were canceled by the Vintage Racing League due to an unfavorable forecast, Coastal Plains Raceway added a race set for Friday, May 29. The track will also host an already scheduled race on Saturday, May 30.
Friday night’s races, which will take place following Open Practice, will feature U-CARs as well as both the four-cylinder Bombers and the new V6/V8 Bomber division. Both Bomber divisions and the U-CAR division were scheduled to run on May 23 prior to the decision to call the race off.
Saturday’s racing program will feature Chargers and both Bomber divisions. Additionally, Legends and Bandoleros will compete in an INEX National Qualifier event. It will mark the first time a late model class (Chargers) have raced at Coastal Plains since May 2025.

Open Practice will take place on Thursday night from 5:00pm until dark and from Friday from 4:00pm until 7:00pm.
