Brody Rhodes takes victory in chaotic Legends race

JACKSONVILLE, NC – Coastal Plains Raceway roared back to life on Friday and Saturday, with new faces making their way to victory lane in the Coastal 150.

The headline event of the weekend at the 4/10-mile track in Jacksonville, North Carolina, was the Legends in an INEX National Qualifier.  Brody Rhodes dominated on paper, but it was a hard-fought win as Oliver Missner showed competitive pace all race.

A late restart wound up being Missner’s undoing when Brady Price got by him on a restart, then battled for the runner-up position with Kaedin Ridenhour, allowing Rhodes to drive away.  Shortly after, Price wrecked off the front bumper of Missner, collecting Michael Bivens.  From there, Rhodes would drive away with the win.

The Bandolero division also competed in an INEX National Qualifier, with the win going to Stevie Warren.

The Bomber divisions and U-CAR division each raced on Friday and Saturday night.

Deanna Stancill scored her second win of the season, and her first at Coastal Plains Raceway, on Friday in a combined Bomber feature, while Jacob Sanders was victorious in U-CAR.

Andrew Watson took the win on Saturday in the V6/V8 Bomber race, while James Barbour won in the 4-cylinder Bomber race.  Eddie Humphrey inherited the win in U-CAR after Watson’s car failed postrace technical inspection for not meeting minimum weight.

The Charger win on Saturday night went to Aiden McConnaughey.

Coastal Plains Raceway returns to action on Saturday, June 13 with Chargers, Legends, Bandoleros, Bombers, and U-CARs.  A Kids Power Wheel Race will also be held during the race.  The green flag will fly at 7:00pm.
